Exhibition       Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam  ‘The world is my family’

D.A.V. Public  School, Khera Khurd organized a global cultural extravaganza,           Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam  ‘The world is my family’ on the 3rd ,4th and 6th of February 2012 in the school premises.

The exhibition was an endeavour to create ‘Global Citizens’ in the true sense by giving them exposure to different countries of the world and enabling them to widen their creative abilities and thought process. It was a lively platform for the students to create a bridge from rural to global and to mingle themselves in the vast cultural diversity of the world. Each class was given a different country and the students of that class highlighted the varied aspects-cultural, political, social and economic aspects of that country.

Class VI to X gave a wonderful display on the countries –Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia  and Brazil. The Primary Wing of the school gave their whole hearted participation displaying the southern  and western states of India, Sri Lanka, Mauritius , Germany and Italy. The Nursery Wing created beautiful scenes of the states of eastern and northern India. It was a mini-view of these states as the students displayed the handicrafts, clothes, Jewellery ,food , vegetation, physical features etc of the states. The students enthusiastically gave dance performances highlighted the famous personalities, discussed the socio-cultural aspects of the country allotted to them. Class VI was echoing with the song ‘Sayonara’ whereas Class X was filled with the fragrance of coffee, the main drink of Brazil. Students of Class VIII displayed the country South Africa and also highlighted the lives of Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi through a skit. All classrooms also displayed PowerPoint presentations and the National Symbol and Anthem of the country on display.

The  guests R.P.Sharma,( consultant-CBSE), Simmi Kher, (Coordinator- ‘Face to Faith,’ India), S.K.Sharma, (Director (Publication-DAV CMC), Baldev Jindal,(Chairman of the school) and Dr. S. R. Arora (Manager of the school) appreciated the efforts of the students and congratulated the Principal Monika Mehan for this unique endeavor that would help in strengthening the  learning platform for the students.
